Economist and Econometrician
At the moment, Melissa is on maternity leave but will return, she assures us, very soon!
Melissa has been a management consultant for 14 years, in the UK and overseas. She specialises in economic analysis and econometrics.
Econometric assignments delivered include: price elasticity models which were used by the client to develop their pricing strategy; demand forecast and prediction models enabling improved estimates of future demand of products and services, and more efficient planning; return on investment models leading to better understanding of payback periods and targeted allocation of resources; and staff and customer survey analysis. She has also prepared economic arguments around new government policies and company policies.
Her consultancy projects have covered a range of organisations and sectors, including: Bayer Diagnostics, Roche Pharmaceuticals, Telecom Italia, City & Guilds, Restaurant Association and Woolworths.
An economics' graduate from Cambridge University , Melissa later did an MSc in Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies.
When not working, her interests include exploring the “Quest for Happiness” in Bhutan and mountaineering in the Himalayas .
