Data analyst and mathematician
With a background in lecturing, scientific research and project management in gas and petroleum, Jim has been dealing with figures and analysis all his working life. For the last 12 years he has run his own survey support agency, offering design, management and data entry for surveys, as well as the development of software that will facilitate data entry. Data analysis, the preparation of statistics and reporting are of course part of the service he offers.
To date, he has dealt with surveys of all kinds for more than 150 organisations, including international corporations where translation of questionnaires has been necessary. Jim has worked for banks, insurance companies, medical institutions, major retailers, universities, housing associations, sports associations. His clients also include BBC, Microsoft, Airmiles, 3M, BT, Shell, Energis, Serco, M.O.D. and the Environment Agency.
Jim has worked on a regular basis with Mahen Tampoe and Gary Saunders, and his largest employee survey to date was run in conjunction with Gary at Woolworths, where 26,000 responses were returned. With Karen Drury, Jim has helped to prepare a simple communication audit which measures the effectiveness of internal communication programmes in organisations, a product currently offered by fe3.
